Hydrotech replaced ageing mechanical water meters with digital smart meters across the Greater Banjul Area, the most densely served part of the national network.
Smart metering gives the utility accurate consumption data without a meter reader walking the route, and gives the customer a bill that matches what they actually used. The work was carried out property by property, with each connection isolated, the new unit fitted and commissioned, and supply restored the same day.
